Typification according to protologue	Holotypus: RAUH Nr. 50 441, in herb. inst. bot. system. univ. heidelbergensi (HEID). [German version:] Holotypus: RAUH Nr. 50 441 (April 1979), im Herbarium Institut für Systematische Botanik der Universität Heidelberg (HEID).
Locus classicus according to protologue	Habitat et distributio: Mexico, in Sylva sicca prope Mazatlan, unacum Tillandsia ferrisiana, T. caput-medusae; prope littora apud 50 m.s.m. [German version:] Heimat und Verbreitung: Mexiko; epiphytisch, Trockenwald bei Mazatlan, zusammen mit Tillandsia ferrisiana, T. caput-medusae in Küstennähe (Höhe 50 m über N.N.).
Comments	The protologue cites a wrong gathering date. The type material was collected at 1979-06-10 and not in «April 1979». [CNS 2015-10-27]
