Typification according to protologue	Holotypus. B.G.H. 72 317, coll. S. Hofstätter s.n. (Nov. 1991), in spiritu, Herb. Inst. Syst. Bot. Univ. Heidelberg (HEID).
Locus classicus according to protologue	Distributio. Silva de Sakaraha (Zombitsy), Prov. Toliara, SW Madagascar.
Comments	Original label from Rauh’s hand on the type specimen [HEID 206120]: «72317 Euph. sakarahaensis RAUH Typus / Sakaraha Tuléar». The gathering date of the type plant in the wild is cited in the protologue as «November 1990». Rauh may have received it on his trip to Madagascar October/November 1990, and it was accessioned at Heidelberg Botanic Garden in November 1990, so the date published («Nov. 1991») must be the date when the type has been prepared ex cult.
