| Location comment (Entry): | The town Rioja (San Martín, Perú), indicated as locality, is situated at an elevation of ±900 msm. According to fieldbook Rauh collected this Guzmania at an elevation of 1200 msm. The protologue cites «800 m» and 20 km W of Rioja as locality. W of Rioja there are high mountains, up to ca. 3900 msm high. Analyzing the way Rauh took on 1983-08-12 it is most likely that he collected this new species on his way from Ingenio (Amazonas, Peru) to Rioja, where he arrived at 16:30 hrs [HEIDRAUHFDB069_024]. The locality of Rauh 63681a (Pitcairnia biflora) is noted as «Rioja–Ingenio, Puente Rio Nieva, 1200m» and this plant was collected together with Rauh 63679. For these reasons coordinates from the point where road PE 5N reaches the 1200 msm contour line were stored in database. [CNS 2015-01-26] | ||
